Dream Journal AI Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Dream Journal AI handles information when you use the app and website. Dream journal content can be personal, so the app is designed to keep your journal on your device except when you choose features that require external services.

Information You Provide

When you use Dream Journal AI, you may create dream transcripts, titles, mood tags, symbols, interpretation results, generated illustrations, lucid coaching profiles, reminder settings, favorites, and other journal-related content.

Dream entries, audio recordings, generated interpretation data, generated images, settings, and cached app data are stored locally on your device using iOS storage technologies. If you delete entries or uninstall the app, locally stored app data may be deleted depending on iOS behavior and your backup settings.

Speech Recognition And Audio

The app requests microphone and speech recognition permissions so you can record dreams. Speech recognition is configured to use on-device recognition where available. Recorded audio may be saved locally on your device so the dream entry can be associated with the recording.

AI Processing

Some features require sending dream-related text to third-party AI services. Dream transcripts and related dream analysis context may be sent to Google Gemini to generate interpretations, monthly reports, cross-dream symbol analysis, and lucid coaching suggestions.

If you generate a dream illustration, a shortened prompt derived from your dream content may be sent to Pollinations AI to generate an image. These services process the information you send according to their own terms and privacy practices.

Subscriptions And Purchases

Paid subscriptions are processed through Apple StoreKit and the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Apple may provide subscription status and transaction information needed to unlock paid features and restore purchases.

Notifications And Device Features

If you use reminder or smart alarm features, the app may request notification permission and store reminder settings locally on your device. If you enable biometric journal protection, authentication is handled by iOS through Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode. We do not receive your biometric data.

Website

The static website may be hosted by a third-party provider. That provider may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, request logs, and pages visited to deliver the website and maintain security.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your dream journal content. As currently designed, the app does not include third-party advertising trackers and does not use your dream content for targeted advertising.

Data Sharing

We share information only as needed to provide app functionality, comply with law, protect rights and safety, process purchases through Apple, or operate third-party AI features you choose to use.

Data Retention

Local dream journal data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or iOS removes it according to your settings. Information processed by third-party services may be retained according to those services' policies.

Your Choices

You can choose not to use AI interpretation, illustration generation, speech recording, notifications, or biometric protection. You can manage microphone, speech recognition, notification, and biometric-related permissions in iOS Settings. You can also delete dream entries from the app where supported.

Children

Dream Journal AI is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the request.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, especially when information is sent over the internet to third-party services.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and make the revised policy available through the website or app.
